What's Your Journey?
I had an interview about a fitness job this week and they asked me a question that I just had to share.
"Why do I feel I'd be fit for this job?" She asked to help clinically obese people lose ample amounts of weight. My answer was easy. No, I have never had a weight problem in my life and no, I cannot relate to being 400 lbs. But what I can relate to is adversity. To my own personal mental battles and growth. To being picked on when I was younger and not always feeling confident. Just because I have not struggled in one realm does not mean I haven't in others and ultimately, what is a weight loss battle? A mental one.
I hope this connects to some of you and why I love doing what I do so much. Training people isn't just about kicking asses and taking names, (although I do enjoy that too) it's about growth inside and out.
And so wherever you are in your journey, we are all on a journey, fighting a battle, and carrying things that feel hard and heavy and sometimes, it's just really helpful to know you are not alone.
